Job Title: Warehouse Associate / Material Handler
Required Skills
- 1+ year of warehouse PIV experience preferred.
- Experience operating stand-up and reach forklifts is preferred.
- Knowledge of picking, packing, shipping, material handling, and inventory replenishment.
- Steel-toe safety shoes required.
Job Summary
Responsible for performing physical and administrative warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and fulfilling orders for merchandise, products, materials, parts, and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform quality checks on inbound and outbound shipments.
- Handle outbound staging, packing, and shipment preparation.
- Process inbound and outbound transactions using warehouse management systems.
- Update shipment information for parcel and freight deliveries.
- Use handheld RF scanners and warehouse management systems to fulfill orders.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support cycle counts.
- Handle hazardous materials in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Follow 5S practices, housekeeping standards, and workplace safety regulations.
- Complete required safety training and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 75 lbs. without assistance.
- Operate powered industrial equipment, including reach trucks, stand-up forklifts, powered pallet jacks, and order pickers, as authorized and trained.
- Assist with shipment discrepancies, returns, repairs, and receiving issues.
- Follow work instructions and maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process standardization.
- Maintain warehouse equipment and report any repair or maintenance requirements.
- Prepare work instructions, checklists, and process documentation when required.
- Assist with training team members on basic warehouse operations.
- Support other warehouse duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Experience:
- 1–2 years of relevant warehouse or material handling experience preferred.
- Previous stand-up or reach forklift experience is an advantage.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems is preferred.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to read and understand measurements using a ruler.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Safety Requirements:
- Steel-toe safety shoes required.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification, as required.
