Direct Care Worker

Do you enjoy helping others and building meaningful relationships? Join our team as a Direct Care Worker supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including individuals with autism. You’ll provide individual support in private residences, work with small residential care and community-based support teams, and help people live more independently, reach personal goals, and participate in their homes and communities. This role reports to the Program Coordinator and offers daytime, evening, overnight, and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and daily living support.
• Assist with meals, shopping, and other daily activities.
• Support participation in community activities and promote community integration.
• Encourage independence, choice, and self-advocacy.
• Build positive relationships and provide companionship.
• Provide behavioral support and maintain a safe, comfortable environment.
• Assist with medication administration after required training.
• Complete basic documentation and communicate important updates to the support team.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license, insurance, and vehicle registration.
• At least two years of driving experience and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of direct care support experience.
• Experience supporting activities of daily living.
• Experience with disability support, autism, or intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• Behavioral support experience.
• Medication Administration training.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Experience with documentation and community integration.
• Strong communication skills and compassion.
