Assistant Retail Manager

Batteries Plus is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Retail Manager to join our team in Macon, GA. This Full-time position offers the opportunity to support daily store operations, contribute to sales growth, and help ensure exceptional customer service. In return, we offer competitive pay of $15- $17 per hour, base pay plus performance based pay, and 1 week of PTO per year. WHAT'S YOUR DAY LIKE?

As an Assistant Retail Manager, you will work closely with the Store Manager to oversee daily operations and support the overall financial and operational success of the store. You will promote a customer-first approach that helps drive sales and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Throughout the day, you will manage purchasing activities, maintain inventory accuracy, ensure product displays are properly maintained, and verify that pricing remains accurate. You will also help implement loss prevention and safety procedures while keeping the store organized and operating efficiently. Technical responsibilities will include installing automotive batteries, rebuilding battery packs, replacing device components, and programming keys and fobs. In addition, you will assist with hiring and training new employees and will assume supervisory responsibilities whenever the Store Manager is absent.

WHAT'S NEEDED FROM AN ASSISTANT RETAIL MANAGER?

This is a Full-time position. The Assistant Retail Manager must be available to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including peak seasons and special events. The ability to work in multiple store locations is also required.

Requirements for an Assistant Retail Manager:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of retail experience
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record (preferred)
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification
• Ability to express both concrete and abstract ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work with minimal direction as a resourceful, independent problem solver and make decisions within standard practices
• Ability to perform simple math calculations, including addition, multiplication, and percentages
• Ability to travel and work in multiple store locations
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including peak seasons and special events
• Ability to regularly stand, walk, handle objects, talk, and listen
• Ability to occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach above the shoulders, and lift more than 50 pounds
• Knowledge of and ability to regularly use electrical cables, simple hand tools, a magnifying glass, spot welders, automotive and electronic testing equipment, a phone, fax, computer, and printer/copier
• Willingness to wear goggles, gloves, and steel-toed shoes
