About the Role

American Stone is hiring a full-time Sales Professional to help customers find the right stone and building materials for their projects, build lasting relationships, and drive sales at our Vancouver location.

We're looking for an experienced, results-driven sales professional who is confident working with contractors, landscapers, builders, and retail customers. The ideal candidate understands how to identify customer needs, recommend products, prepare quotes, and close sales.

Experience in construction, landscaping, masonry, stone, building materials, or a closely related industry is strongly preferred. Familiarity with construction tools, equipment, materials, and job site environments is highly valued.

This is an on-site sales position focused on serving customers at our Vancouver store, managing customer relationships, and generating repeat business.

Compensation: Base Pay + Commissions.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, landscapers, builders, and retail customers.
• Understand customer projects and recommend appropriate stone, landscaping, and construction materials.
• Prepare accurate quotes, process orders, and close sales.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales through product recommendations and additional purchases.
• Follow up with customers on quotes, orders, and ongoing projects to encourage repeat business.
• Provide knowledgeable product guidance, including material options, applications, and availability.
• Coordinate with yard and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
• Maintain organized customer records, sales activities, and order information.
• Meet or exceed established sales goals and performance expectations.
• Contribute to a professional, organized, and customer-focused store environment.

Qualifications

Required:

• Previous sales experience with demonstrated ability to build customer relationships and close sales.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
• Ability to understand customer needs and confidently recommend products and solutions.
• Highly organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple customers and priorities.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working toward sales targets.
• Basic computer skills, including email, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and order-processing systems.
• Ability to work on-site during business hours, including Saturdays as needed.
• Ability to pass dr*g screening.

Preferred:

• Sales experience in construction, landscaping, masonry, stone, building materials, lumber, flooring, hardware, or closely related industries.
• Practical knowledge of construction materials, tools, equipment, or job site environments.
• Experience working with contractors, builders, or other trade professionals.
• Experience preparing estimates, quotes, and material orders.
• Familiarity with CRM or sales management systems.
• Spanish-speaking ability is a plus.
