Direct Support Professional(DSP)

Job Description:

Overall responsibilities are to implement supports as outline in the individuals’ support plan to accomplishment the desired outcomes

Provide services that are person-centered and encourage age appropriateness

Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and shows respect and dignity for individuals served

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Be familiar with behavior modification principles and alternative techniques in working with individuals that have developmental disabilities and/or have the ability to be trained and demonstrate these skills within the first six weeks of employment;

Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills;

Ability to be trained in documentation formats for record keeping;

Ability to get along with clients and peers;
