Role Description The Heating Air Conditioning Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Gillette, NJ. The technician installs, maintains, and repairs residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related equipment. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing system issues, performing troubleshooting, completing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all work complies with relevant codes, safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines. The technician interacts directly with customers to explain findings, recommend solutions, and provide clear estimates and documentation. This role also involves collaborating with team members, maintaining accurate service records, and keeping tools, vehicles, and work areas organized and safe.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose HVAC performance issues and identify effective repair solutions.
• Candidates should possess plumbing skills relevant to HVAC installations, condensate drainage, and system connections.
• Candidates should possess preventive maintenance skills to perform scheduled inspections, cleaning, and adjustments that extend equipment life and improve efficiency.
• Candidates should possess EPA certification and knowledge of refrigerant handling, recovery, and environmental regulations.
• Candidates should possess electricity skills, including safe work practices and basic understanding of wiring, controls, and electrical components in HVAC systems.
• Relevant qualifications include prior experience as an HVAC technician or apprentice, familiarity with local mechanical and building codes, and ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, vocational or technical training in HVAC, a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift and move equipment as required, work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions, and follow all safety protocols is essential.
