Benefits Manager

Search Solution Group | Full-Time, Onsite | Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview

Search Solution Group is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Benefits Manager to join a large, well-established organization. This position is ideal for a hands-on benefits professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with data, and is passionate about improving processes and supporting employees.

The Benefits Manager will work closely with the Director of Benefits, serving as a key functional resource for the benefits team. This role focuses on benefits administration, analytics, reporting, compliance, and day-to-day operations rather than direct people management.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, proactive, adaptable, and willing to roll up their sleeves to support all aspects of benefits administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support day-to-day employee benefits administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient processes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and primary resource for Benefits Coordinators, assisting with complex questions and escalations.
  • Support the administration of health and welfare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability (STD), and long-term disability (LTD).
  • Assist with FMLA, leave of absence (LOA), COBRA, and 401(k) administration.
  • Utilize ADP Workforce Now to manage benefits data, reporting, and administrative processes.
  • Develop and maintain detailed Excel reports, analyze benefits data, identify discrepancies, and recommend process improvements.
  • Support annual Open Enrollment activities, including preparation, employee communications, enrollment processing, and follow-up.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable benefits regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA requirements.
  • Assist with benefits-related projects, acquisitions, and integration activities as needed.
  • Partner closely with the Director of Benefits to streamline workflows, resolve issues, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide hands-on support to the broader benefits team, including coordinator-level responsibilities when necessary.
  • Help improve existing processes and support ongoing HR technology and benefits administration enhancements.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in employee benefits administration.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced reporting, data analysis, and reconciliation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employee benefits programs, including health and welfare plans, COBRA, FMLA, STD, LTD, and leave administration.
  • Understanding of self-insured and fully insured benefits plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex benefits processes with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and service-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to work in a hands-on environment and assist with administrative responsibilities as needed.
  • Ability to work fully onsite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Experience supporting benefits programs within a large, multi-location organization.
  • Knowledge of Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting and compliance.
  • Exposure to pension plan administration.
  • Experience supporting benefits administration through acquisitions or organizational transitions.
  • Spanish-language proficiency.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a motivated, solutions-oriented benefits professional who enjoys being involved in the details of daily operations. This individual should be comfortable working in an evolving environment where processes are being modernized and collaboration across the team is essential.

We are seeking someone who brings strong technical benefits knowledge, advanced analytical capabilities, a willingness to learn, and the initiative to take ownership of responsibilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Benefits Analyst, Senior Benefits Specialist, or hands-on Benefits Manager looking to make a meaningful impact within a stable, growing organization.
