Cenveo, a leading North American envelope manufacturer, is hiring 2nd & 3rd shift Machine Operators (Packers) for our Chicago, IL facility. Responsible for packaging finished envelopes, inspecting products for quality, and preparing orders for shipment. Works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while following safety and production standards.
Pay & Schedule
- Hourly Rate: $18/hr + applicable shift premium
- 2nd shift: 2pm - 10pm / Shift Premium $1/hr
- 3rd shift: 10pm - 6am / Shift Premium $2/hr
- Schedule: Monday – Friday; Saturdays required during peak production or as business needs dictate.
What You'll Do
- Loads paper on to automatic hand-fed/web envelope folding machines; pack finished product.
- Inspects quality of envelopes, labels cartons, reports variances to key personnel.
- Checks current production orders/schedules to determine daily production requirements.
- May be required to complete rework
- Cleans up work area during/end of shift.
- Other duties as assigned/required.
Job Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months of relevant work experience in a production environment.
- Quality inspection skills and ability to measure/read a ruler.
- Basic math, verbal/written communication, computer skills
- Detailoriented, safetyfocused, and reliable
- Consistent attendance and dependability are critical for this role
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, bending, climbing, and reaching
- Lift up to 55 lbs; manual dexterity required
- Work around noise, machinery, inks, solvents, and glue
- Ability to work in hot or cold conditions and stay alert around equipment
- Able to keep pace with highspeed production for a full shift
