We are looking for an experienced pharmacist with a passion for helping others improve their health or manage their chronic illnesses. As a pharmacist, you will review prescriptions, check patient files for possible drug interactions, dispense prescribed medication, and answer patient questions about prescribed and over-the-counter medications and their use. When necessary, you will also collaborate and advise health practitioners on drug dosage and selection. We are open to candidates that retail pharmacy experience, Long Term Care pharmacy experience is a plus!
Responsibilities:
- Compound and dispense prescribed medications
- Advise physicians and health practitioners on the interactions and side effects of medications
- Proactively review prescriptions for proper dosage
- Supervise and maintain records of all medications
- Dispense drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners
- Check for order accuracy on medicine type, dosage, and correct packaging/ labels on all new and refill orders
- Follow all applicable local, state, and federal health law (FDA and DEA regulations, HIPAA guidelines)
- Check drug stock frequently and ensure drugs are up to date, removing any damaged or expired items
- Framework software knowledge is a plus
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in pharmacy or other medical fields
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Current and valid license to practice
- 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience and/or Long-Term Care Pharmacy experience
- Knowledgeable in DEA and FDA health regulations
