About the opportunity
Join a modern, full-service steel construction firm serving the greater Northeast corridor. Based just north of Boston, Massachusetts, we’re expanding our operations and seeking a hands-on logistics professional to coordinate the movement of fabricated steel from our shop to active jobsites. This is not a traditional warehouse shipping roleit blends logistics planning, construction scheduling, trucking compliance, and production coordination.
A day in the life
You start by reviewing the daily production plan and jobsite needs. You confirm load sequencing with the assigned Project Manager, verify any special delivery criteria, and align pickup times so cranes and crews aren’t waiting. You build accurate Bills of Lading for every vendor and site load, double-check securement and piece counts as trailers are staged, and greenlight departures once everything matches drawings and documentation. Throughout the day, you dispatch internal and thirdparty drivers, ensure all moves comply with FMCSA/DOT rules and state restrictions across New England and New York, and secure oversize/overweight permits when needed. You track the location and status of every company-owned and leased trailer, keeping annual inspections current. If discrepancies arise, you have the authority to pause or resequence shipments. You finish by keeping the yard and office organized, clean, and safe.
