Carrier Development Manager

Carrier Development Manager (Freight / 3PL)

Build and manage the carrier and partner network behind our client's brokerage, managed transportation, final-mile, and middle-mile services. Brokerage handles daily load coverage, so your time goes to strategic capacity, carrier rates, and partner relationships.

Responsibilities

• Source and onboard new carriers and transportation partners.

• Negotiate strategic rates and recurring capacity agreements.

• Build primary and backup capacity for key customers and lanes.

• Support RFPs and new market launches with capacity and cost input.

• Track carrier performance and run partner business reviews.

Requirements

• 3+ years in transportation, freight brokerage, carrier development, or 3PL.

• Experience negotiating with and managing motor carriers.

• Knowledge of carrier economics, pricing, and gross margin.

• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Preferred

Experience with RFPs and implementations, plus TMS and market-data tools.
