The Fitter Welder will support workshop-based structural steel projects, industrial equipment fabrication, pipework and pressure vessels, and custom metalwork in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Reporting to the Fabrication Manager and Workshop Supervisor, this role may work independently, in a two-person welding team, as part of a larger workshop crew, or within a cross-functional project team.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate structural steel, industrial equipment, pipework, pressure vessels, and custom metalwork.
- Fit components accurately for fabrication and welding.
- Interpret mechanical drawings and welding symbols.
- Cut metal to required specifications.
- Grind and prepare metal components and weld areas.
- Perform dimensional inspections using precision measurement techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in fabrication welding.
- Experience with structural steel fabrication.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and welding symbols.
- Proficiency in metal cutting and precision measurement.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
