IT Network Operations Engineer (TVA)

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a Tier 1 vendor for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and we are recruiting for experienced, IT Network Operations Engineers for two specific technical specialties. This is an excellent opportunity for highly skilled professionals to play a critical role in supporting strategic infrastructure initiatives within a large-scale enterprise environment.

NOTE: U.S. Citizenship is required. The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain an SF85 (Public Trust) clearance or higher, with candidates who already possess an active clearance strongly preferred.

• Target W2 Hourly Pay Rate: $68.00/hour (time and a half for overtime)

• Local or Regional residency is required

Position Summary - Cisco ACI:

We are seeking an experienced Cisco ACI Engineer to support a portfolio of major infrastructure modernization and network lifecycle initiatives. This position will serve as a key technical resource responsible for the design, engineering, administration, optimization, and operational support of TVA's Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) environment.

Qualified candidates should possess strong hands-on experience with Cisco ACI fabric architecture, APIC controllers, tenant and policy-based networking, spine-leaf deployments, network segmentation, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management. Experience integrating ACI with traditional enterprise networking environments and collaborating with engineering, operations, and project teams is highly desired.

Position Summary - F5 Platforms:

We are seeking an experienced F5 Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a portfolio of major infrastructure and modernization initiatives. This role will serve as a key technical resource responsible for engineering, configuration, documentation, and operational support of F5 technologies across multiple project teams.

Qualified candidates should have strong hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP and BIG-IQ platforms, including administration, design, and troubleshooting of both load balancing and TLS proxy capabilities. Experience supporting complex enterprise environments and collaborating with engineering, operations, and project teams is highly desired.

In General:

Applicants should be located within reasonable commuting distance of either Chattanooga or Knoxville as the role is expected to be onsite 2-3 days per week. In addition, the selected contractor may be required to travel between the Chattanooga and Knoxville offices approximately 1-2 times per month to support engineering workshops, project implementation activities, and coordination efforts.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related field of study; or equivalent education, training & experience.
• Extensive experience and expert knowledge in supporting the operation of large, multi-dimensional systems across broad IT technology areas.
• Strong facilitation, negotiation, and intervention skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to challenge and influence teams in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment while dealing diplomatically with internal and external partners.
