Assistant Project Manager – Ground-Up Development (NYC)
$110,000 – $130,000 per year | Full-time | Hybrid: Jobsite / Office (South Brooklyn)
About the role
RYBAK Development is a New York City real estate developer with numerous ground-up projects underway across the city. We’re hiring an Assistant Project Manager to join our in-house construction team and help run these projects from buyout through completion.
This is an owner-side role with real responsibility. You’ll work directly with ownership, our project architects, and our Senior Project Manager, not three layers removed from the people making decisions. It’s a strong fit for someone with a couple of years of construction experience who wants broader exposure and a clear path to Project Manager.
What you’ll do
- Perform take-offs, build and issue bid packages, and maintain bid lists
- Review subcontractor scopes and proposals, and prepare award recommendations
- Support trade buyout with the estimating and project teams; prepare Letters of Intent
- Create and manage logs for RFIs, submittals, and change orders, plus long-lead items, insurance, permits, and inspections
- Coordinate RFIs and submittals with field superintendents and subcontractors
- Obtain and review subcontractor pricing for potential change orders
- Run and distribute minutes for OAC, subcontractor, and field meetings
- Work with our architects and development team to carry design intent through to the field
What we’re looking for
- 1–3 years of experience in construction, project engineering, or a related design/construction role
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- Working knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and MS Office
- AutoCAD experience is a plus
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing many moving pieces across multiple projects
What we offer
- $110,000 – $130,000 base salary, based on experience
- Health insurance
- 401(k)
- Generous PTO Package
- Direct exposure to ownership and the full development process
- A growth path to Project Manager
Schedule and location
Monday–Friday, with occasional weekends as project needs require. The role splits time roughly 50/50 between our South Brooklyn office and active jobsites in NYC.
