Position Type: Full-Time
Experience Level: Mid-to-Senior (5+ Years preferred)
Location: Mandeville, Louisiana

Position Overview

We are a growing, fast-paced commercial construction company seeking a hands-on Construction Project Manager to oversee projects from pre-construction through closeout. In this role, you won't just manage from a computer; you will be the bridge between the field, clients, and subcontractors. Because of our agile size, we value proven field experience and strong trade communication over formal office certifications. You will manage 2 to 4 projects concurrently, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Manage all phases of commercial construction projects from initial bidding and buyouts to final walkthroughs.
  • Financial Management: Track project budgets, review and approve subcontractor invoices, manage change orders, and protect company profit margins.
  • Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and update master project schedules, holding subcontractors accountable to critical milestone dates.
  • Documentation: Handle all project-related paperwork, including RFIs, submittals, contracts, and daily/weekly logs.
  • Subcontractor & Vendor Relations: Qualify, negotiate with, and select subcontractors; maintain strong relationships to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with Field Superintendents to solve job site challenges, clear logistical roadblocks, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Client Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and engineers, providing transparent updates and managing expectations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 3 years directly managing projects.
  • Education/Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree in Construction Management or a trade background is highly valued, but formal project management certificates (PMP, etc.) are NOT required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of commercial construction means, methods, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to read blueprints, estimate small-to-mid change orders, and comfortably manage a line-item budget.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with standard construction management software (e.g., Planswift, Konstruct Connect) and Excel.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation skills, a collaborative mindset, and a direct, professional communication style suited for both the job site and the boardroom.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary Range: Based on experience.
  • Dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.
