Employment Type: Contract / Through to 8/29/27

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently seeking a detail-oriented, highly motivated Program Manager I / Project Manager for a contract engagement in Lancaster, NY.

Working onsite within a dedicated 5-person project management team and reporting to the Director of Projects, you will be responsible for assisting in leading projects from ideation through to final delivery. In this role, your primary focus will center on managing the day-to-day execution, documentation, and progress of the BSOS project.

Core Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership & Scheduling: Lead project planning sessions, build and maintain detailed project schedules using MS Project, and ensure key milestones consistently meet schedule commitments.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate contributions across engineering, manufacturing, and operations; track performance using project dashboards and establish risk mitigation plans.
  • BSOS Project Oversight: Serve as the day-to-day point of contact monitoring progress, resolving bottlenecks, and maintaining schedule integrity for the BSOS project line.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Oversee incoming and outgoing project documentation, ensuring strict adherence to internal procedures, guidelines, and Group Recommended Practices.
  • Executive Reporting: Conduct formal project reviews and craft detailed, high-level status reports for executive leadership and senior management.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain clear, proactive communication across internal cross-functional teams, Program Managers, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience: 5+ years of Project Management or technical project leadership experience. (Note: This position requires established PM experience; entry-level candidates will not be considered).
  • Software Tools: Hands-on proficiency with MS Project (or equivalent scheduling tools) and the standard MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Technical Exposure: Prior experience or familiarity with Product Design, manufacturing processes, and production workflows.
  • Export Control / Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) to comply with ITAR and export control regulations. Sponsorship is not available.
  • Location: Must be local to or capable of daily onsite work in Lancaster, NY. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional), Professional Engineer (PE) license, Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), or AS9100 Internal Auditor certification.
  • Domain Expertise: Experience in aerospace/aircraft systems, aerospace design and engineering principles, or life-support/oxygen systems.
  • Testing & Analysis: Background in engineering analysis, product testing, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM).
