Junior Estimator

Job Overview:

The Junior Estimator is an individual looking to get into the construction field and reports directly to the Estimator. Will possess a strong grasp of construction principles, excellent communication abilities, and meticulous attention to detail. Responsible for performing a variety of tasks including looking at construction drawings and measuring/counting pipe lengths, manholes, handholes, etc.

Responsibilities:

· Analyze project plans and specifications to create support with accurate estimating.

· Help with calculating crew costs, including labor, equipment, and daily expenses.

· Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing as directed by the Estimator.

· Collect information from knowledgeable sources about the work to be performed.

· Support Estimator in preparation to present project estimates with company leadership.

· Ensure timely deadlines for all assigned tasks.

· Work with project managers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to gather necessary estimating information.

· Examine blueprints, specifications, and other documents to define project scope and requirements.

· Research and compile pricing information for labor, materials, and equipment as requested.

· Support with evaluation of bids from subcontractors and suppliers for accuracy and competitiveness.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· At least 2 years of work experience.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (word and excel)

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a federal background check.

· Strong alignment with company values, emphasizing safety and quality.

Preferred Skills:

· Familiarity with B2W software
