Warehouse Shipping Associate

Location: Ames, IA
Pay: $19.00-$20.00/hour (based on experience)

Sit-down electric forklift experience required

Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Must be available for overtime during the busy season (January-June). Typical overtime hours may extend shifts until 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM.

? Seasonal Bonus: Employees who complete the busy season will earn an additional $2.00 per hour worked from January through June.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Warehouse Shipping Associate to support daily warehouse operations. This role is responsible for shipping and receiving activities, inventory management, forklift operation, and ensuring products move safely and efficiently throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments
  • Process shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions
  • Prepare shipping documents, labels, and bills of lading
  • Receive, inspect, stage, and store raw materials and finished goods
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and warehouse organization
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Support order fulfillment and material movement throughout the facility
  • Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of warehouse, shipping/receiving, or inventory control experience
  • Forklift experience and ability to obtain certification
  • Basic computer skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • SAP or inventory management system experience
  • Manufacturing or industrial warehouse experience
  • Stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequent walking, stair climbing, bending, stooping, reaching, and repetitive hand/wrist movements
  • Regular lifting and moving of materials up to 50 lbs independently
  • Occasional movement of materials over 100 lbs with assistance
  • Ability to work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE
  • Continuous attention to inventory, equipment, shipments, and warehouse activities
  • Ability to work safely around forklifts, warehouse equipment, and moving materials
