Warehouse Associate - Second Shift

Openwork is hiring an experienced Warehouse Associate for an established steel distribution company in Houston, TX 77041.

This hands-on position involves operating forklifts, pulling customer orders, loading and unloading materials, and supporting daily warehouse operations.

Qualified candidates must have at least 2 years of manufacturing warehouse or material-handling experience and hands-on forklift operating experience. Overhead crane and steel industry experience are preferred but not required. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly preferred.

• Location: Houston, TX 77041

• Pay: $17.50/hr | Weekly Pay

• Schedule: MonFri, 11:30 AM8:00 PM

• Training: MonFri, 9:00 AM6:00 PM until completed

• Shift: 2nd Shift

• Employment: Full-Time

• Overtime: Required as needed, including short or last-minute notice

• Operate forklifts to safely move, load, and organize materials

• Pull and prepare customer orders using pick tickets

• Load and unload trucks and warehouse materials

• Verify material sizes, quantities, grades, and heat numbers

• Handle structural steel, pipes, and steel plates

• Assist with cutting and measuring materials using shop equipment

• Check order accuracy and complete required documentation

• Follow safe material-handling and equipment procedures

• Maintain clean and organized warehouse areas

• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing warehouse or material-handling experience required

• Hands-on forklift operating experience required

• Bilingual English/Spanish skills highly preferred

• Overhead crane experience preferred but not required

• Steel distribution or steel manufacturing experience is a plus

• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English

• Experience loading, unloading, and handling industrial materials

• Ability to read pick tickets and use basic measuring tools

• Basic math skills and strong attention to detail

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Dependable attendance and strong teamwork skills

• Must be available for short-notice or last-minute overtime

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Ability to meet applicable pre-employment background and drug/alcohol screening requirements

• Industrial warehouse and steel distribution environment

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting

• Forklift operation and handling heavy industrial materials

• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.

• Required PPE and workplace safety procedures

• $17.50 per hour | Weekly Pay

• Full-time, MondayFriday, second-shift schedule
