Job Description: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) / Postpartum

Position: RN – L&D / Postpartum
Location: New Britain, CT
Department: Family Birthing Center

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor & Delivery (L&D) and Postpartum care. The RN will provide high-quality patient care and float between Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units within the Family Birthing Center.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Schedule: Every Other Weekend (EOW)
• Holidays: Every Other Holiday (EOH)

Requirements

• Minimum 1+ year of recent experience in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum.
• Active Connecticut RN License.
• BLS Certification.
• ACLS Certification.
• Experience with Epic EMR.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and postpartum patients.
• Monitor maternal and newborn health.
• Assist with labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Float between Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using Epic.
