Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) to join its Cardiopulmonary team. In this role, you will provide respiratory care to patients, support emergency interventions, monitor treatment effectiveness, and educate patients and families.
-> Key Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory assessments, measure lung capacity, and analyze blood samples using blood gas analyzers.
- Perform EKGs and provide tobacco-cessation education as ordered.
- Administer prescribed respiratory treatments and monitor, document, and communicate patient responses.
- Respond to emergency calls and codes, assess patients, and provide appropriate respiratory interventions.
- Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions, treatments, equipment, and available community resources.
- Support the development and improvement of respiratory care policies and procedures using current research and best practices.
- Maintain respiratory equipment, supplies, and medical gas cylinders.
- Clean, sterilize, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance on respiratory equipment.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and required training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
-> Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential/licensure as required in North Carolina.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Current ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.
