SMT Rework Technician

My client in the South Bay Area is hiring an SMT Touch-Up / Rework Technician. This is a Temp. to Perm Contract - first-shift position.

Responsibilities:

· Visually inspect surface-mount technology (SMT) assemblies for defects using magnification.

· Repair surface-mount components, including removal and replacement.

· Touch up and rework individual components on printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).

· Read electrical schematics, blueprints, and assembly documents.

· Follow IPC-A-610 workmanship standards for electronic assemblies.

· Detect soldering and component-placement defects.

· Record completed rework in accordance with company quality procedures.

Requirements:

· Minimum of 2 years of hands-on SMT touch-up/rework experience

· Knowledge of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and surface-mount technology (SMT)

· Soldering experience removing, replacing, and resoldering electronic components

· Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards

· Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and assembly documentation

· Ability to identify soldering defects, misplaced components, and assembly problems

· Experience using soldering stations, microscopes, ohmmeters, wire strippers, pliers, and screwdrivers

· Ability to document completed rework accurately

· Attention to detail, troubleshooting skills, and consistent workmanship
