Associate Scientist

Shift:

• Working Hours: 8:00AM-5:00PM CST, Monday - Friday.
• 6-month contract with potential to convert to FT

Pay: $27.40/Hour

Overview:

• The role is responsible for basic lab safety - proper use of PPE, chemical storage and handling, including potentially biohazardous materials
• Culturing of E coli, plasmid DNA transformation into E coli, cell banking
• Restriction cloning, HiFi/Gibson Assembly cloning, Agarose Gel Electrophoresis and interpretation of gel images
• Adhering to cloning procedures and ability to take detailed notes for Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN)
• Working in a detail-oriented manner to ensure samples are separated
• Adhering to protocols

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree with 2 yrs lab experience
• Basic Molecular Biology, Restriction Enzyme usage and cloning, PCR amplification, HiFi/Gibson Assembly cloning, Bacterial transformation, Culture growth, DNA preparation (miniprep scale), Agarose Gel Electrophoresis, Agarose gel interpretation, Basic lab skills, Aseptic Technique, Pipetting and solution handling,
• Cannot mix up samples,
• Take detailed notes on work performed
