Transportation Dispatch Manager

Performance Jobsite Solutions (PJS) is recruiting an experienced Lead Dispatcher for an established transportation and logistics operation in Charleston, Tennessee.

We're looking for a strong, dependable leader who understands trucking operations, can manage multiple drivers, make good decisions under pressure, and keep daily dispatch running efficiently.

This is a great opportunity for someone with transportation dispatch experience who is ready to take on a leadership role.

• Lead daily dispatch operations for approximately 25–30 local and regional drivers.

• Coordinate outbound and return trips, ensuring freight is delivered safely and on schedule.

• Manage a 24/7 transportation operation and communicate effectively with drivers and management.

• Process freight orders received through EDI, email, and verbal communication.

• Coordinate transportation of three primary product types requiring specialized trailers.

• Monitor driver schedules, availability, and Hours of Service (HOS) compliance.

• Utilize transportation management software to manage orders, scheduling, and maintenance coordination.

• Track driver activity, workflows, and communication through Samsara.

• Address scheduling conflicts, service delays, and operational issues.

• Maintain accurate dispatch records and communicate updates to the appropriate personnel.

• Previous trucking or transportation dispatch experience required.

• Leadership or lead dispatcher experience strongly preferred.

• Experience managing multiple drivers in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirements.

• Experience with TMW (Transportation Management System) preferred.

• Familiarity with TMT (Fleet Maintenance Software) is a plus.

• Experience with Samsara GPS, driver communication, and fleet monitoring preferred.

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Outlook, and general computer applications.

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to remain calm, make decisions, and manage changing priorities.

• Experience coordinating specialized trailers or industrial freight is a plus.

• Approximately 25–30 drivers.

• 24/7 operation.

• 95% of loads return the same day.

• Approximately 5% require one overnight trip.

• No reloading required.

• Three primary freight products utilizing different specialized trailers.

We need someone who can take ownership of dispatch operations, communicate clearly with drivers, and solve problems without constant supervision.
