Material Handler / Warehouse (Direct Hire)
Location: Stevens Point, WI
Pay:$18.00/hour
Schedule:1st shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
- Mandatory overtime as needed
Job Summary
The Material Handler I supports daily warehouse and production operations by receiving, storing, and distributing raw materials and parts throughout the facility. This role uses warehouse equipment (including powered industrial trucks) to load, unload, move, and stage materials while maintaining accurate inventory records.
Essential Duties
- Unload trucks by hand and/or using pallet jacks and warehouse equipment
- Safely operate powered industrial trucks (training/testing provided as needed)
- Perform daily equipment safety checks
- Organize, tally, and verify incoming shipments against packing lists
- Record and report inventory received, damages, and discrepancies
- Maintain accurate inventory records (including scanning)
- Create pick lists and pull materials for production lines
- Deliver parts/materials to production areas as needed
- Read and follow SOPs and safety requirements
- Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
- Work scheduled hours reliably, including overtime/weekends as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow instructions and prioritize tasks
- Basic math and basic computer skills (email/enterprise systems)
Preferred:
- Warehouse and/or manufacturing experience
- Prior forklift / powered industrial truck experience
- Receiving and inventory procedures experience
- Hand scanner experience
- Kanban/Lean familiarity
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs independently
- Occasional team lifting up to 75 lbs
- Continuous active lifting for much of the shift
Work Environment
- Temperature-controlled manufacturing environment
- Exposure to outdoor hot/cold temperatures while unloading trailers
