Sander / Grinder
Location: Springfield, Ohio
Pay: $21.50 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift – Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Position Summary
We are seeking a Sander / Grinder to support manufacturing operations at a facility specializing in piano components. This position involves sanding, grinding, deburring, and finishing wood and metal components to ensure smooth surfaces and high-quality finished products.
Job Duties
Operate sanding and grinding equipment to finish manufactured components
Sand wood and other materials to prepare surfaces for staining, painting, finishing, or assembly
Grind, deburr, and polish metal components to remove excess material, sharp edges, and surface imperfections
Remove weld spatter and rough areas from metal parts
Inspect finished components for quality and surface consistency
Use hand tools and power tools to complete finishing tasks
Follow production instructions and quality specifications
Identify and report defective materials or equipment concerns
Maintain a clean and organized workstation
Follow established manufacturing safety procedures
Perform additional production duties as assigned
Requirements
Some previous manufacturing, sanding, grinding, or related experience
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely
Strong attention to detail and product quality
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to perform repetitive movements, lifting, and other physical manufacturing tasks
Ability to follow production instructions and safety procedures
Reliable attendance and ability to work required overtime
Steel-toe work boots required
