Position Summary
We are seeking dependable Loaders to support warehouse and production operations. This position is responsible for safely operating a stand-up forklift (hi-lo) to move raw materials and finished products throughout the facility, stage inventory, and load shipments onto semi-trucks and box trucks. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment and regularly lifting heavy materials.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow all safety rules, procedures, and instructions while operating the hi-lo.
- Perform a preventative maintenance inspection of the hi-lo at the start of each shift.
- Operate a stand-up forklift throughout the warehouse and production areas to move raw materials and finished products to designated locations.
- Use a utility knife to assist with unpackaging raw materials and products.
- Lift and move heavy products weighing 50+ pounds multiple times per shift.
- Perform or assist with team lifts when products exceed 50 pounds.
- Visually inspect materials before loading them onto semi-trucks and box trucks.
- Verify shipping labels to ensure the correctcustomername, size, style, and handing before loading products.
- Load semi-trucks and box trucks with the required finished products.
- Assist with staging inventory and raw materials for the following day's production.
Required Qualifications
- Previous forklift experience, preferably operating a stand-up forklift.
- Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment and follow all safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail when inspecting products and verifying shipping information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse and production environment.
Physical Requirements
This is a very active and physically demanding position. Employees must be able to:
- Stand and walk throughout the shift.
- Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb.
- Frequently lift and move materials weighing over 50 pounds.
- Perform team lifts when necessary.
- Maintain the vision, coordination, and awareness required to safely operate forklift equipment and inspect products.
Work Environment
- Work takes place in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
- Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical equipment, and vibration.
- Noise levels can be loud.
