The purpose of the Laboratory (Lab) Technician role is to safely perform daily activities that support the chemical evaluation of incoming raw materials, intermediate process samples, finished biodiesel, and biodiesel by-products. The Lab Technician is responsible for laboratory-based tasks, which include sampling, testing, measuring, recording, and analyzing results. The Lab Technician is also responsible for general lab duties, but not limited to preparing reagents, managing hazardous waste, instrument calibration, and statistical analysis of instrument performance. The Lab Technician is expected to know area and plant performance goals and metrics (such as safety, quality, production) and develop an understanding of how to positively impact these goals. Additionally, the Lab Technician may provide input on area priorities that support the achievement of production goals.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry/Biology, preferred.
At least one [1] year work experiences an in analytical laboratory.
Knowledge of chemical plant manufacturing safe operations and procedures.
Ability to effectively communicate with peers, supervision, and management.
Additional Information
This is a full-time day, evening, or night, 12-hour position that reports to the Lab Manager. This role may be required to overtime hours outside regular shift schedule to support non-routine work and plant turnarounds The Memphis biodiesel manufacturing plant operates on a 7-day, 24-hour schedule.
