About the Opportunity

A growing warehouse operation in New Castle, Delaware is seeking a Warehouse Lead to support daily logistics, inventory, and warehouse operations while serving as a hands-on leader for the team. This position works closely with the Warehouse Supervisor and serves as a backup site leader when needed.

This is a working lead role that combines leadership responsibilities with active participation in warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehousing, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and team leadership within a fast-paced logistics environment.

What You'll Do

Serve as a working lead and backup to the Warehouse Supervisor, supporting daily warehouse operations

Help supervise, coach, and train warehouse team members

Coordinate warehouse activities including receiving, storage, inventory management, and outbound shipments

Verify incoming materials and ensure inventory is properly organized and stored

Assist with inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, and maintaining accurate records

Track operational performance and communicate status updates to warehouse leadership

Support shipment planning and consolidation efforts to improve efficiency and reduce transportation costs

Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, carriers, and internal teams

Ensure service commitments are met regarding quality, quantity, and delivery timelines

Reinforce warehouse security procedures and inventory control practices

Promote and maintain a safe work environment while supporting company safety initiatives

Assist with developing and maintaining warehouse procedures and work instructions

Monitor key operational metrics and support reporting efforts

Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings

Perform additional duties as assigned

What You Bring

1+ year of warehouse lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience

Experience in warehousing, logistics, supply chain, inventory control, or distribution operations

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience preferred

Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills

Detail-oriented with the ability to track inventory and operational performance

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively with team members, vendors, and management

Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Forklift experience with the ability to successfully complete internal forklift certification

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical warehouse duties throughout the shift

Ability to pass a physical fitness assessment
