Emergency Volunteers Needed for Hurricane Harvey Flood Relief
Montgomery County Food Bank
Due to the crippling, widespread damage caused by Hurricane Harvey, the Montgomery County Food Bank is calling on our community to help organize and distribute much needed donations as they arrive. We will be receiving an overwhelming amount of support through donations of food, household goods, and personal items. Now we need your help to get them out to those who need them the most. Volunteer to help us receive, organize, and package donations that will be directly distributed to shelters and individuals throughout the community. Due to the special circumstances that a natural disaster brings,we require that our emergency volunteers are at least 13 years old, and all volunteers under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult. Waiver forms are available on our website, and will also be available onsite.

Samaritan's Purse - Harvey Hurricane Response
Thank you for responding to the urgent call to help homeowners devastated by Hurricane Harvey. We have disaster relief units, staff, and volunteers in Texas working from five locations, including two in the Houston area. Over the next weeks and months, there is a huge need to minister to hurting families in Jesus Name. We need an army of volunteers - as many as 1,000 a day. Please join us! We thank God for the overwhelming volunteer response weve received so far. The needs are great, and we can take an almost unlimited number of day volunteers at our sites. Locations: Victoria, TX Rockport/Portland, TX Santa Fe, TX Houston, TX Pearland, TX Samaritans Purse mobilizes staff and equipment and enlists thousands of volunteers to provide emergency aid to victims of tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters in the United States. We often stay behind after our initial response to rebuild or restore houses for families in need.

Two 53 foot enclosed trailers are desperately needed by Montgomery County Food Bank for Hurricane Harvey victims. LDS Charities connects with local LDS Church leaders to receive reports and coordinate response efforts such as cleaning up homes and yards damaged by the disaster. Once the cleanup requests have been processed by LDS Church emergency operations centers, LDS Church leaders in areas surrounding the disaster receive requests for help in clean-up efforts. The LDS Church emergency operations center in Houston will also consult the list of volunteers in this project. Emails will be sent to you letting you know if your help is needed.
