What you will do:Under general supervision, performs general maintenance duties or minor technical tasks required to maintain structures, equipment, building and grounds.How you will do it:Performs routine repair of structures, which may include wall repairs, carpet installation, sanding walls in preparation for painting, painting, etc.Observing assigned areas maintenance issues, reporting items in need of attention to supervisor, making routine repairs as requested.Assisting in materials inventory.Performs routine building and safety checks on heating, cooling and other equipment.Must comply with work order system to include interpreting work orders, performing work requested and completing work orders per instruction.Performs a variety of maintenance functions related plumbing, electrical, A/V, security, carpentry, doors, and hardwareRunning errands, i.e. retrieving supplies/materials for tasks, holding objects (materials requiring more than one person), cleaning-up after completion of tasks.Able to work in occupied areas of a functioning administrative and secure facilityMay operate various grounds, housekeeping, or construction equipment to perform required service.Moves furniture and equipment as assigned.Ensures all light fixtures are operational, changes light bulbs as necessary.May assist in layout, construction and repair of a variety of plant or office structures such as walls, partitions, doors, concrete forms, raised floors, ceiling tiles or roofs.Assists in layout for equipment installation.Complies with all company policies and procedures and adheres to company standards.Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.Performs any other miscellaneous duties as requestedWhat we look for:High school graduate or equivalent.Ability to read labels, directions, work orders, etc.Requires two to three years of general maintenance experience or two to three years in previous Generalist positions.Must possess a valid driver’s licenseMust be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.Ability to work second or third shift, holidays, and weekends as required.Must be physically able to perform maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes ability to: climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., etc.Johnson Controls International plc. is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, protected veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a qualified individual with a disability or any other characteristic protected by law.
