We also offer financial wellness tools and retirement planning.Scope:Sonographer responsibilities: Produce high quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each exam.Recognize the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structures and provide the best image quality for documentation.Document all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly.Obtain and evaluate pertinent patient history and physical findings that may affect the sonographic examination.Explain procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort and cooperation.Monitor during all phases of procedure with special care taken to insure patient emotional and physical well-being.Communicate patient information in a professional and courteous manner to patients and to referring physician offices as required.Requirements:ARRT Registry or ARDMS Registry. Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures.Perform x-ray procedures using portable machines as requested by the Emergency Department and nursing units.Process films for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures.Prepare or clean patient rooms by changing linens, stocking supplies and wiping off tables and equipment ensuring an efficient and clean working environment.Protect patients from undue exposure to radiation by using lead shields and various safety factors.Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents by monitoring dosages and determining any potential allergies ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures.Maintain patient information as needed by purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files to ensure accurate patient records.Maintain imaging and processing equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests and documenting results.
