In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical direction of engineering projects and ensuring the successful execution of initiatives. This role involves mentoring team members, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in engineering practices.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead and mentor a team of Network Engineers, System Integration and Testing (LANSIT) Techs, Capacity & Planning Techs and Circuit Design and Documentation (CD&D) Techs providing technical guidance and support, as well as hands-on support to assist with projects with coverage from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Supporting 24x7 operations and shift work may be required.Design, develop, and implement technical solutions in line with project requirements and organizational goals.Assist to plan, design, install, maintain, monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, modify, and support network communications systems to provide maximum performance and availability.Assist to plan, design, implement, and support local and wide area networks (LANs/WANs) in the areas of Internet connectivity, capacity planning, routing, switching, server load balancing, network security, and wireless.Performing HR duties as assigned, including but not limited to: interviewing, hiring, career enablement, performance counseling, compensation planning, and requisition creation.Lending expertise and institutional knowledge to improve the overall excellence of the team by supporting the creation of Knowledge Articles, Work Instructions and SOPs.Local travel may be required between customer buildings or temporary assignment to an alternate location in support of special projects.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience, or a combination of education and work experience equivalent to 11+ years. 6+ of those years having direct knowledge of the customer’s operational environment, including (but not limited to) network engineering design, delivery and management.Demonstrated ability managing teams with a diverse range of skillsets in direct support to customer.Proven ability to build and maintain constructive relationships among customers, stakeholders, technical teams, and contractors across the customer base.Ability to understand and discuss project statuses across the team and offer solutions to any issues.Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management principles.Relevant certifications in technical (Cisco) and managerial skills are a plus.Strong expertise in relevant programming languages, frameworks, and tools.Strong communication skills due to variety of groups to be working with, such as co-workers, management, and customers; must be able to exchange accurate information. Ability to adapt to quickly changing tasks and requirements and the ability to quickly learn new skills while on the job.Clearance Requirements:Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph.Physical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
