About the unitCorewell Health Kentwood Family Medicine has an opening for a full time LPN. This LPN will join a friendly and dynamic team at our fast-paced Kentwood Family Practice office! Duties include supporting the incoming calls to triage messages, routing messages according to protocols, providing additional support for our nurse visit schedule with vaccine and medication administration for our office, and updating patient information in the electronic medical record. Job SummaryResponsible for ensuring the safe, successful and timely coordination of patient throughput associated with Corewell Health West. Job SummaryPrepares (processes, embeds, cuts, stains) tissue specimen for microscopic examination by a pathologist so that a diagnosis can be made.Essential Functions:Prepares tissues for microscopic examination including embedding tissue; microtome sectioning; routine H & E staining, coverslipping, and labeling slides.Performs dissection and gross description of specimens for reference and other tissue as needed.May prepare specimens for frozen section examination by a pathologist including the freezing, cutting, staining and preparation of slides. About this Unit We are committed to bringing Orthopedic care to our community and the lakeshore. Our small, intimate team supports providers both from the Grand Haven and Holland area, along with visiting ortho subspecialties from our Grand Rapids office. We are a growing office and often when needed, we assist in covering the clinic in our Holland Lakewood office. The role of the athletic trainer in our department will be clinical/clerical in nature. The AT’s will work within their scope of care along with daily tasks including, but not limited to rooming the patient, preparing and turning over rooms, patient navigation, answering calls, scheduling, referrals support, virtual visits, in-basket management, and chart prep. We have providers that flex to 6 other locations. Some locations we lease staff. We have staff that go to Health Pointe in Grand Haven and North Muskegon. Medical Assistant room for providers they take vitals, do body comp analysis for certain appointments, reconcile mediations etc., in patients’ chart. They work with providers and nurses on incoming/outgoing in basket messages to patients. They do chart prep place lab orders and pend them for providers to review/cosign. They handle short term disability and FMLA paperwork. They clean rooms, stock supplies, we have various handouts that we distribute they help maintain supplies in rooms. They answer phones calls, retrieve messages. We have surgical seminar several times during the week where a group of patients come in to learn the surgical options the MA assigned obtains vitals, obtains health history forms, and enters date into computer if patient didn’t complete electronically for the surgeon this done while surgeon is presenting in group setting. They take patient photos at various visits. They provide a drafted surgical checklist to the surgeons that surgeon will review with the patient. They process forms for record releases. They create surgical consents. We have materials that we provide to patients at our final decision and preop visits they prepare the bags that they give to patients. They provide injection education for patients who are on weight loss medication.Office CultureWe are fortunate with our culture; we are a close group; everyone works to help each other out. Our staff can ask any provider any question and they will answer it. Our surgeons typically at the end of each office day go around and thank the staff for their assistance for that day.
