You will operate plant and equipment to provide blasting products and services to customers. And to assist in providing a quality service of bulk explosives to customers in a safe and environmentally conscious manner at all times.This position will also be responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of equipment to minimize downtime in delivery and service processes.Work scheduleMonday thru Friday7 am- 3 pmdailyHome every nightLocal driving (2-3 hours)Overtime may be neededWhat you will be doingThis is a driver (40%) / laborer (60%) positionPre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicles including checking and filling fluid levelsAbility to safely hook up and unhook trailersDrives emulsion tanker truck and box trucksEnsure raw materials and dangerous goods are used, handled, and stored according to requirementsEnsure minimum damage to the environment through waste minimization and controlReport all unusual incidents and accidents immediatelyParticipate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetingsInstalls, dismantles, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs site mechanical equipmentResponsible for preventive maintenance and repair of equipment, specifically on the company’s bulk trucksWill work on hydraulics, electrical systems, and electronicsWhat you will bring At least one year of experience driving and/or handling materialsKnowledgeable of DOT regulations requiredAbility to communicate and work in a team environmentGood attention to detail and math skills to handle inventory on daily basisAbility to prioritize various projects, ongoing daily tasks, and high priority situations to maximize efficiencyKnowledge of basic machine operations, hydraulic, and electricalFamiliar with computer software such as Microsoft Office, Internet, and SAPMust be dependable and a self-starterMust be flexible to fast changes as needed during schedule changesAbility to conduct multiple tasks throughout the site and communicate the same to employees and our customersPrioritization of various projects, ongoing daily tasks, and high-priority situations to maximize efficiencyNote:Orica does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
