Program SummaryNatchaug Hospital's Journey House program is a specialized residential treatment facility on the Mansfield campus for up to 12 adolescent girls with identified needs for behavioral health services who admitted through a referral from the juvenile justice system. Journey House offers a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities that are carried out in individual, group and family settings. Residents and the treatment team collaborate on discharge planning, which includes coordination of individual and family therapy, medication management, identification of a primary care physician and any vocational, recreational or educational planning.Job Summary Lead Behavioral Health Clinician works in coordination with interdisciplinary teams to organize, prepare, and deliver evidence based clinical services in the Journey House. Clinical services include individual, group and family therapy.Low staff to youth client ratio; 1-4 maximum Maintains ethical principles and professional standards of practice in adherence to the discipline’s professional code of ethics. Assumes leadership responsibilities as assigned by clinical leadership.May assume clinical oversight of daily operations in the absence of Program Manager. Key responsibilities of Lead Behavioral Health Clinician: Conducts a comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment and establishes a care plan, as appropriate. Provides direct patient care that may include case management, care coordination, interdisciplinary collaboration for care transition needs, crisis intervention/safety planning, counseling, and emotional support to patients and families coping with illness, trauma, or end -of-life care, referral and discharge planning.Refers patient to appropriate levels of care and available resources that promote the individualized care plan.Assists in the coordination of programming which may include staff scheduling, scheduling clinical activities, program development, utilization review, case load assignment, and attending meetings as directed by manager.May assist in the hiring process for new staff, supporting expansion of initiatives, supporting clinician productivity, leading team meetings, conducting staff education and training.Independently able to provide clinical social work interventions to all patient populations.Collaborate and network with other BHN departments, entities, including state systems, juvenile courts, CSSD, DCF.Provide social work field supervision to second year social work students. ***Lead Behavioral Health Clinicians are eligible for a Sign On Bonus up to $1,500.00, in accordance with program guidelines***Qualifications Master’s degree in social work, or counseling, or marriage and family therapy or related Human Service field required.Minimum of one year of experience as a licensed Clinician working with behavioral health and/or chemical dependency population.Experience in leading clinical care teams preferred.Current Connecticut license; LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LADC or PsyD.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish relationships within and outside their entity.Valid Driver's License.Must be able to obtain Public Service License (PSL), which requires passing pre-hire drug screen and DOT physical. Journey House offers a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities that are carried out in individual, group and family settings, such as: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), The Seven Challenges® substance abuse treatment, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Emotional Freedom Technique and Trauma-informed yoga. Position Summary: The Director will provide clinical and administrative leadership for Journey house, which include program operations, quality improvement, fiscal and budgetary management and regulatory compliance. The Director, working closely with organizational leadership, community and state agencies, will ensure that exceptional care is provided. Key Accountabilities: Ensures standards of efficiency of intake, service provision and discharge are met to maximize and achieve program goalsProvides oversight and direction on clinical programingIn collaboration with Finance, develops and manages program budgetEnsures that systems are developed and maintained so the program meets relevant licensing and accreditation standards, CSSD, The Joint Commission, etc.Monitors and reports on key quality improvement indicators and develops strategies for attaining Quality Improvement goals. Designs, participates and drives Quality Improvement activities.Functions as the organization’s PREA Coordinator, working with the PREA Manager to develop, implement and oversee agency efforts to ensure compliance with all PREA standards in Journey HouseDevelops and fosters collaborative relationships with hospital, community and statewide agencies.Serves as a resource to senior leadership team, management team and medical leadership related to the programming needs of the programWorks closely with the Court Stabilization Service Division (CSSD) leadership on program contracts, adhering to program services, and providing care to youthA strong understanding of union contracts and ability to work within contract provisions. Periodic participation in union negotiations.Provides leadership and management for direct reports, including staff training and development, allocation of staffing resources, work flow management, performance monitoring, pro-active problem resolution. Works closely with educational leadership to coordinate and meet resident educational goalsQualifications Current CT licensure as a LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LADC, or psychologistMaster’s Degree in Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse field is requiredFive plus years of experience working with an adolescent behavioral health populationFive plus years of progressive clinical and administrative leadership experienceIn-depth knowledge of clinical treatment modalities, such as DBT, TF-CBT, ART, etc.Visible leader with excellent interpersonal communication skills who relates well with all levels of the organizationA creative, forward thinking leader with the proven ability to engage, coach and mentor direct reports, colleagues and other key stakeholders We take great care of careers.
