An advanced level team contributor with strong technical expertise in HVAC who will assist in training of personnel in the laboratory as well as defining and supporting the implementation of operational improvement of testing.How you will do it Provide technical communications for test engineering to project customer(s).Plan and execute tests of chillers and components. This may include:- Participate in the development of and/or receive and review test specifications from customer group; seek out and acquire needs from other areas/disciplines who may wish to benefit from testing a particular subject.- Significant track record as lead project management over successful mechanical HVAC/R installations- Use input from the customer group(s) to facilitate test plans and identify resource (human, physical) requirements.- Meet with product engineering, product management, product technical support or equivalent groups to agree upon and issue test plans.- Work within the test engineering team to schedule tests and required resources.- Provide oversight and input to test technicians for set up of data acquisition software configurations.- Work with labor, test support, and engineering resources to actively manage the test from set up to completion. This includes daily monitoring and planning, communication, direct data acquisition, review data acquired, provide engineering analysis of data acquired, problem resolution, and other activities necessary in order to efficiently perform and complete testing in a timely fashion.- Maintain a proficiency in understanding chiller test data to guide the customer engineering teams as necessary to acceptance or assist in explanation of data results.Drive, and participate with creation, of standard procedures, test standards and processes.Works independently with minimal direction. Independently develops approach to solutions.Use experience to develop new procedures, processes, and resources as necessary to provide more efficient, accurate, or advanced testing services.What we look for BS requiredA minimum combination of seven (7) years direct work experience in the following: HVAC/R equipment development, servicing or testing, with a good understanding of HVAC/R systems, concepts, and diagnostics.Desired background in engineering and development testing, with use of a variety of test instrumentation to perform test data acquisition and data analysis, test troubleshooting and diagnostics, technical reporting, and related communication at various levels is required.Works under minimal supervision. Ownership of assignments, which are carried out collaboratively within lab team and customer groups. Spear-heads process initiatives within department.High level of product family competency. Recognized expert in one or more technical and operational disciplines within HVAC platform development. Nature and Scope:The Senior Product Engineer is responsible to contribute to the product team through product design, testing, data analysis, and project management. The Engineer will also support the manufacturing of the product, representing the design team through initiating and executing design changes. All of these tasks also require strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present information to engineering teammates, engineering managers, product management, and business leaders.This position is a part of a global chiller engineering team. The engineer will work under the product engineering manager to assist design and development of new products and support production of existing products globally.
