The  person in charge of Facilities Groundskeeping will be under the direction of the District Supervisor, Grounds & Logistics Division and is expected to provide customer service to college by carrying out facilities services’ activities at all college locations as directed providing logistical support, construction activities, housekeeping services, landscape maintenance, transportation services and other related tasks as directed.
Duties include but are not limited to: Basic moves of furniture, equipment and/or items required for college business operations Basic landscape maintenance duties: mow, trim, sweep/blow clippings, plant, and mulch Inspect and perform basic preventive maintenance to college tools, equipment, facilities and vehicles Basic cleaning and maintenance of college facilities and grounds Collect auction items, as well as, stored material and equipment Perform facilities preparation/set-ups for College events Replace damaged or stained ceiling tiles Discuss requested work and follow-up completed tasks with customers Assist craft work (plumber, HVAC, electrician, carpenter, painter, irrigation system tech) Serves as team member of Facilities Services emergency planning and response team responding to major interruptions of College services. 
Additional Job Functions: Block/direct traffic for special events Safely operate forklift and other equipment including but not limited to tractors and lifts Pick up trash on campus when encountered during the course of daily duties; this include fallen or broken branches Communication via phone calls in a timely manner Make minor Asphalt repairs Perform maintenance by cleaning out roof drains / gutters as needed Relocate, dispose and replace car stops when requested Remove/Install exterior signage Ability to work at assigned college location completing work orders as scheduled. Must be able to communicate effectively in order to receive instructions and training on equipment.

San Jacinto College Central Pasadena Campus hiring an experienced HVAC Journeyman to help maintain and repair our College facilities HVAC systems and equipment in order to provide a safe and comfortable environment for students, faculty and staff.
The HVAC Journeyman is expected to maintain and repair HVAC equipment in the district. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimum efficiency and extend equipment life. Also, perform HVAC installation, repair and maintenance as needed. Perform preventive maintenance work as required and in the priority directed. Support and adhere to the College Safety Program. Maintain quality standards as set by the District. Check and test control circuits; check and test pneumatic control systems; diagnose HVAC problems and remove, repair and replace faulty parts. Be available for emergency after-hour work or to complete on-going projects, and be willing to respond to calls any time during a 24-hour period.
Duties include but are not limited to: Complete assigned preventative maintenance and repair work orders Perform equipment inspections to determine condition or potential problems Update material inventory for HVAC Department Trouble shoot water circulating pumps, cooling towers, air handlers, walk in coolers, walk in freezers, fan coil units, exhaust fans, split systems and roof top units Assist supervisor with water treatment systems Respond to hot and cold calls, diagnose problems and make adjustments or repairs as necessary Investigate all water leak issues within the buildings to determine the source Assist Plumbing and Electrical Departments when the need arises Other duties as assigned Carry college cell phone and on call 24/7

Requirements: Knowledge in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of HVAC equipment including large centrifugal chillers, boilers, pumps and air handling units.  Ability to review and close out work orders in a computerized work order system. Knowledge in chemical water treatment systems for HVAC applications. Ability to diagnose and repair pneumatic and DDC control systems. Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans. Ability to rebuild pumps, compressors and other HVAC equipment High school education or GED Must have completed a recognized apprentice program, or have at least 5 years of experience directly related to the craft with no less than 3 years at the apprentice level.  Must be able to read and interpret electro-mechanical plans, specifications, and operational criteria and possess quality understanding of installed HVAC systems. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record. May be required to successfully complete job ability testing. Preferred candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in hot water and chilled water systems of 100+ tons capacity with 2 years of experience in/or with related trades such as plumbing and electrical. Must have CFC refrigerant reclaimant certification at level 1 and 2 with a universal certification within one (1) year. State class A A/C license
