AWS Fraud Prevention is responsible for protecting AWS and its customers from the costs, inconvenience, and damage associated with fraud (e.g. financial loss, service unavailability). We are responsible for preventing fraudulent access to AWS via the sign-up process, detecting fraudulent or compromised accounts by monitoring behaviors, containing risky accounts by limiting access to service resources, investigating suspicious accounts, and remediating fraud by partnering with AWS service teams to clean up fraudulent resources and recover capacity.
