Who You Are:
You will be the one to ensure complete orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner. A successful Shipping Supervisor is analytical, well organized and excels in communication. Must be comfortable with paperwork and information systems and have great knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures. The goal is to ensure that the shipping processes are running smoothly and effectively.
What You Will Be Doing:
Manage Warehouse functions and staff (Loaders/Unloaders).Back upDriver and Warehouse LoaderPrepare documentation for delivery, shipping and receiving as needed.Set-up and maintain documentation process for daily outbound deliveries and inbound receiving log, verifying merchandise received matches purchase orders.Complete damage merchandise/discrepancy paperwork and prepare damaged merchandise for transfer.Coordinate routes by examining product dimensions and weight for each order and identify and evaluate any special needs for each load.Determine the most efficient vehicle for route completion.Coordinate all jobsite and truckload deliveries with customer base.Provide support to team of drivers.Use software to track, check, prioritize and route ordersResponsible for inventory, manage and count dailyCollaborate with warehouse, purchasing and other managers to optimize processesResolve issues regarding shipped ordersEnsure compliance to legal regulations and company policiesReport to management on activities and issues
Skills You Bring:
Provenexperience in the transportation of goods and materialDriver license with clean driving recordBuilding material experience preferredSolid knowledge of logistics proceduresComputer savvy with knowledge of Microsoft Office softwareExperience in directing and evaluating subordinatesExcellent organizational and communication skillsAttention to detailProblem-solving abilitiesCustomer service orientedPrior 4D Forklift experience highly preferred
