Depending upon location, NA may provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational. Provides assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs and encourages residents to participate. The NA has knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care/service plan. Depending upon the location, may need to be knowledgeable of providing care to tenants with dementia. The NA is considered a member of the nursing team and is expected to know, and will be held accountable for, following infection prevention and control policies and Personal Protective Equipment use. The nursing department provides care 24 hours/day; any of those hours may be an expectation of employment specific to the needs of the department, possibly with varying shifts. These needs change dependent upon staffing availability and resident census. Will be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Specific shift assignments will be made based on nursing area and by location. Committee meeting attendance may be expected at times. Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually. Maintains all department specific required certifications. When applicable, for applicable states, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
