Accountant – Temp-to-Hire

ProSearch Recruiting Group is partnering with a well-established organization in Marin County to identify an experienced Accountant for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This is a great fit for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role, working across multiple areas of accounting while supporting internal teams with accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations.
This position is fully onsite in San Rafael and requires someone who is comfortable managing competing priorities, researching discrepancies, and communicating effectively with a variety of internal stakeholders.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare, maintain, and analyze financial accounting records and reports
- Perform general ledger and account reconciliations
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and deposits
- Research outstanding accounting items and work with internal teams to resolve discrepancies
- Assist with budget and expenditure monitoring
- Prepare financial reports and analytical spreadsheets
- Work within accounting software systems to maintain accurate financial data
- Support multiple programs and deadlines while effectively prioritizing workload
- Provide accounting guidance and support to internal business personnelG
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, bookkeeping, and financial reporting
- Experience with fund or governmental accounting is highly desirable
- Prior accounting experience within the public-sector, or similarly structured environment is a plus
- Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills, including the ability to create analytical worksheets
- Ability to research accounting issues and identify appropriate resolutions
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
- Accounting degree/coursework or equivalent relevant experience
Position Details
This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity paying $42–$45/hour, depending on experience. The position is 100% onsite in San Rafael, CA.
