Position summary
AMSYS is seeking a hands-on HR Operations Manager to strengthen employee support and standardize HR processes across our growing group of businesses. This person will manage daily HR activities for our U.S. workforce, including onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, employee records, performance management support, and payroll coordination. They will work closely with Talent, Operations, Finance, and business managers to resolve issues, improve processes, and ensure employee changes are handled accurately and on time. The ideal candidate enjoys being the go-to HR resource for employees and managers, takes ownership of follow-through, and can improve existing processes while keeping daily operations running smoothly.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for day-to-day employee HR questions and manager support.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, including documentation, benefits communication, and handoffs with IT, Payroll, and hiring managers.
- Maintain accurate employee records, organizational information, and employment changes across U.S. entities.
- Partner with Finance and Payroll to reconcile approved changes, benefits deductions, and other HR inputs before payroll deadlines.
- Administer benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, and open enrollment in coordination with brokers and providers.
- Address employee concerns, maintain appropriate documentation, and escalate sensitive matters to leadership.
- Coach managers on expectations, feedback, performance documentation, and consistent application of company policies.
- Coordinate performance reviews and track completion and follow-up actions.
- Review existing HR practices, identify gaps, and establish clear procedures, responsibilities, and deadlines.
- Maintain and improve HRIS workflows, reporting, and employee self-service.
- Use practical automation to reduce repetitive work while maintaining approvals, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Support internal recruiting through intake coordination, interviews, offers, and onboarding handoffs.
- Coordinate with offshore HR and Operations on shared processes and employee transitions.
- Prepare reports on headcount, onboarding status, turnover, and outstanding HR actions.
Required qualifications
- Five or more years of progressive HR experience as an HR Generalist, Senior HR Generalist, or HR Manager.
- Direct experience supporting employee relations, onboarding, benefits, performance management, and employee records.
- Experience supporting employees across multiple locations; multi-entity experience is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on HRIS experience, including maintaining data, managing workflows, and producing reports.
- Experience coordinating payroll inputs and resolving discrepancies with Finance or Payroll.
- Demonstrated ability to improve a process and maintain it after implementation.
- Strong communication, discretion, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Comfort working in a growing organization where some processes require cleanup and clarification.
- Ability to work full-time from the Houston office.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in IT services, MSP, staffing, consulting, or another professional services environment.
- Experience supporting employees working at client locations.
- Familiarity with workflow automation tools and responsible use of AI in HR administration.
- Experience coordinating with offshore teams.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
