This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play an important role in strengthening payroll operations.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience processing high-volume, multi-state payroll, strong knowledge of payroll compliance, and the ability to identify discrepancies, improve processes, and collaborate across departments.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute beyond day-to-day payroll processing by helping establish best practices, enhance internal controls, and support operational improvements.

What You'll Do

  • Payroll Processing: Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing, including regular, supplemental, and off-cycle payrolls.
  • Payroll Auditing & Reconciliation: Review payroll data, identify discrepancies, reconcile deductions and payments, and ensure the accuracy of payroll transactions.
  • Multi-State Compliance: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including wage and hour requirements, payroll taxes, and reporting obligations.
  • Tax Reporting: Support quarterly and annual payroll tax reconciliations, filings, W-2 reporting, amendments, and resolution of agency notices.
  • Payroll Systems: Utilize ADP Vantage to process payroll, maintain employee records, upload payroll data, and support system testing and enhancements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with HR, benefits, and payroll colleagues to resolve payroll questions and maintain accurate employee information.
  • Process Improvement: Help develop standardized payroll procedures, strengthen internal controls, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Employee Payments & Deductions: Manage payroll calculations involving bonuses, incentives, terminations, garnishments, benefits deductions, retirement contributions, and other payroll adjustments.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 2 years of hands-on payroll processing experience, preferably in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. payroll regulations, payroll taxation, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with a major payroll platform such as ADP, UKG, Ceridian/Dayforce, or a comparable system. ADP Vantage experience is particularly valuable.
  • Demonstrated ability to audit payroll transactions, reconcile discrepancies, and troubleshoot complex payroll issues.
  • Strong analytical skills, numerical aptitude, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
