The Flagger is responsible for directing the flow of traffic around construction sites, road maintenance areas, and other work zones. This role involves setting up and taking down traffic control signs, cones, and barricades to ensure the safety of workers and the public. The Flagger uses hand signals, signs, and other traffic control devices to communicate with motorists and guide them safely through or around the work area. The position requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and the capability to stand for extended periods.
Set up signs, cones, and other traffic control devices around work areas to divert traffic. Effectively manage traffic flow with stop/slow paddles. Maintain clear and effective communication with team members using two-way radios. Regularly required to stand and walk and reach with hands and arms for up to 10 hours a day. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move items over 50 pounds. Drive company vehicles to transport traffic control equipment to and from job sites. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure vehicles are in good working condition. Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, moving equipment and machinery parts, moving traffic, fumes, and airborne particles. Noise level of the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Responsibilities: Provides service to the customer base by repairing and overhauling equipment, such as, compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devises in a safe, efficient and timely manner that exceeds the customer’s expectations.Provides general repair work on refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment, such as, air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors and electric motors in a safe and timely manner.Provides preventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunction and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance for the customer base.Provides department support by processing job tickets, work orders to the necessary department in a timely manner.Provides necessary training to new or less qualified technicians as needed.Maintains proper truck inventory continuously, and drives company vehicle in a safe manner.Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management. Qualifications: Knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, gas furnaces, and electrical.Working knowledge of single systems, rack systems, display cases and walk-in boxes.Ability to troubleshoot and repair computer controls.Good mechanical skills.Good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with customers, and management.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or GED, course work at an accredited vocational technical or trade school; 3 - 6 years experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration, ice machine and gas furnace required. Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience and super market stores. Must have passed Tech Skills level 5 with a 80% or better.
