Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care, focusing on the episode of care for complex patients with unpredictable outcomes being transported by air or ground ambulance. This position involves the integration of in-depth pathophysiologic concepts and utilization of knowledge of pharmacology and advanced skills along with critical thinking and independent decision making in order to enhance the care of the critically ill or severely injured patient in the unique environments of air medical and ground transport. Reports to Manager.

Qualifications

  • BSN required
  • Minimum three years critical care experience (ICU or ED). One year of this experience must be in an ICU.
  • Certification in the following areas: Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or, Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN)
  • Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and CPR certification
  • CT and RI Paramedic License
  • Advance skills: endotracheal intubation, cricothyroidotomy, pericardiocentesis, peripheral and central venous access, introsseous infusion, umbilical venous catheterization and needle thoracotomy.
