Valve Services Welder
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
This position is responsible for supporting the nuclear fleet for all aspects of mechanical valve repairs. The team will focus on specialty skills for in-body valve repairs.
The Corporate Valve Services team supports a culture of continuous improvement by participating in training, reinforcing standards, reporting, and mitigating unsafe or undesirable conditions, and utilizing the corrective action program.
Position requires ability to work on cross-functional teams on major projects while adhering to the conduct of maintenance and established maintenance standards and practices.
Will be required to support all sites in their region and may require up to 60% overnight travel.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
&bull Perform in valve inspection and mechanical repairs, including seat lapping, in-body welding, and machining in accordance with procedures and standards. (40%)
&bull Provide technical support to plant operations, maintenance staff and engineering to the level of training received. (30%)
&bull Perform verification checks on assigned plant equipment.
&bull Use, review and recommend revisions to procedures, prints, technical manuals, and other documents as required to the level of training received. (5%)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
&bull Two years&rsquo experience using qualified mig, tig and stick welding techniques
&bull Successfully pass the Welder proficiency test
&bull Ability to pass MASS pre-employment test
&bull Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
&bull Ability to travel to specified work locations
AND one of the following:
&bull Associate degree in a non-science technical field (such as Power Plant, Engineering, Nuclear, Maintenance Technology) with two years of mechanical experience
OR
&bull Four years minimum military maintenance experience (e.g., Machinist Mate.
OR
&bull Certified Journeyperson or equivalent experience in a related field such as Machinist, Pipefitter, Boilermaker, Ironworker or Millwright
OR
&bull Four years mechanical experience in an industrial setting
Pay Range: $43.26/hr. - $63/hr. based on experience & previous qualifications.
