Responsibilities:

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of the companies’ safety programs and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer the positive recognition programs, including incentive programs and awards at the corporate, regional, divisional, and individual level.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors that provide support for safety-related items, including but not limited to PPE or awards.
  • Administer the corporate KMA safe operator program.
  • Administer the safe operator pins and patches program.
  • Administer the driver safety bonus program.
  • Manage our current library of safety resources.
  • Oversee successful completion of all related audits and ensure audits are uploaded to a library.
  • Prepare and distribute reports for compliance tracking, as required.
  • Monitor and track retraining completion of risky behaviors and post-accident.
  • Reviews reporting of all vehicular, passenger and employee accidents/incidents for determination of cause and preventability, identifying potential trends to be addressed in future training efforts.
  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation other safety program initiatives, as required.
  • Support divisions with safety and training initiatives or help, as required.
  • Continuously research and maintain a current understanding of governing regulations.
  • Frequent review of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with DOT, FTA, FMCSA, CHP, OSHA, and other regulatory officials. Ensure our policies and procedures account for up-to-date regulations.
  • Support annual compliance reporting and filing for DOT and OSHA.
  • Support the Chief Safety Officer on monthly invoice queue and approvals, ensuring that expenses are appropriately budgeted and accounted for in safety cost center forecast.
Qualifications:

Talent Requirements:

  • Two (2) + years working in an administrator role preferably in safety or a related function.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products including, but not limited to, TEAMS, SharePoint, OneDrive.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Enthusiasm about Safety!
