We are seeking a Corporate Counsel for our Corporate office in Frisco TX, this person should have 2-5 years of experience in health care operations (law firm or in-house), including comprehensive knowledge of federal fraud and abuse laws, and preferred experience with employee relations issues, operational and vendor contracting, and litigation management

Essential Duties:

  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality at all times due to access to sensitive information
  • Maintains regular, predictable, consistent attendance and is flexible to meet the needs of the legal department
  • Follows all Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA regulations and requirements
  • Abides by all regulations, policies, procedures and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Hours: Monday - Friday/40 hours per week (Frisco Office)

Performance Responsibilities:

  • This attorney will join a growing legal team and is expected to support the company’s hospice, home health and personal care operations on a variety of legal issues
  • Reporting to the SVP/Assistant General Counsel, this attorney’s responsibilities will include reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts, including contracts with other health care providers, real estate leases and general contracts related to the company’s business operations
  • This attorney will also assist in the management of the company’s current litigation, which will include working directly with the SVP/AGC and the company’s external counsel
  • This attorney will work closely with other members of the company’s legal team as well as the company’s operational team and is expected to maintain positive internal and external customer service relationships
  • Maintains open lines of communication
  • Plans and organizes work effectively and ensures its completion
  • Meets all productivity requirements
  • Represents the organization professionally at all times

Position Requirements & Competencies:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school
  • Bar membership in good standing
  • 2-5 years of experience in health care operations (law firm or in-house), including comprehensive knowledge of federal fraud and abuse laws, and preferred experience with employee relations issues, operational and vendor contracting, and litigation management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a range of legal matters
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
