Overview:

We are looking for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. The COTA is responsible for providing quality rehabilitative occupational therapy under the direction and supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist to patients with primarily conditions involving musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, psychiatric deficiencies and to promote excellent customer service while adhering to state and federal guidelines.

  • Demonstrates therapy for the nurse, Home Health Aide, family member or other responsible persons who may assist the patients with their Occupational Therapy program as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Reinforces teaching and guides those assisting in the home program to ensure high quality service and promote motivation of patient, family and caregivers’ participation in therapy home program.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate the care of the patient and family, exchange information and problem solving, and receive staff support and education.
About You:
  • Successful completion of a college program for Certification Occupational Therapy Assistants that leads to an associate degree and that has approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Is eligible to take or successfully complete the entry-level certification for occupational therapy assistants developed and administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • One year's experience in hospital or home health required.
